This Sunday, September 30th, is the 7th annual SkaterAid event at East Decatur Station. The event helps to raise money for families dealing with the tragedy of pediatric cancer.

From 2-7pm they will be food, music, prizes, and of course skating. It is $10 for adults and $5 for students. There is no additional charge for skaters, only a waiver that will need to be signed. Also be sure to check out the art available for bid at the silent auction.

From 9am-1pm at the Public Works building on Talley St. Recycle your old electronics – “ computers, printers, telephones and even batteries. Enjoy the cooler late summer nights at the Scottish Rite Jazz Night each Thursday night in September. All Concerts are from 7-9pm on the front lawn of The Solarium located at 321 W. Hill St in Oakhurst Village. Best of all it’s FREE!! Be sure to bring your picnic blanket to lounge on the lawn as you enjoy the sounds of the music! Concert line up includes:

It’s that time again….time for yummy BBQ and good tunes!! August 18th is the 12th annual BBQ Blues and Bluegrass Festival in Harmony Park in Oakhurst from 4pm to 10pm. The BBQ this year will be provided by Fox Brothers and Black Tie BBQ. There is also a great line up of bands including Mama’s Blue Dress, Deja Bluegrass, Heather Luttrell, Roxy Watson, and The Electromatics. Come on out for a plate of tasty BBQ and foot-stomping good tunes!!
